Danielle grew up attending Webster Bible Church and as a teen spent time in Peru with a missionary family. This experience confirmed her desire to serve the Lord as a missionary. Joseph & Danielle and Isaiah arrived in Spain in February of 2000. Andrew was born there on April 9, 2000. A third son, Michael, was born in June of 2001. Their primary emphasis their first term was learning the language fluently, understanding the culture, and learning the more effective ways to minister the Gospel in the culture they are in. As Joseph has learned under national pastors, he has been active in preaching, outreach ministries, coordinating activities, and music. After a difficult year, including surgery for one-year old Michael to repair a hole in his heart and a move to a new location to begin their church planting ministry, life is beginning to settle down for the Contreras family. Their store front church opened in September of 2002.
